  • common peroneal nerve is most susceptible to injury in posterior popliteal fossa where it wraps around fibular head

  • evaluate for inversion / eversion
  • evaluate for open wound around popliteal fossa

IMAGING

  • rule out spinal etiology of an L5 radic on MRI L-spine

A/P
  • expectant management
  • delayed EMG/NCS in 1-3 months (neurology consult)
  • Consider plastics consult for eventual nerve transfer if needed
